KuksasThe Kuksa is the special drinking cup of hunters and Saami people (Laplanders). These kuksas have been used for as long as people can remember. Lapps keep and use a kuksa for their lifetime. Saami people, Finnish hunters and hikers use them for drinking while out in nature, from hot coffee to cold water from the stream. It is durable in all weather and is made to last. Each kuksa is hand carved out of one piece of carefully selected arctic birch burl and uniquely treated with a combination of either salt, paraffin, coffee grounds & poppy oil. This makes them durable and long lasting while light enough to carry in a backpack or on a belt. The Kuksa is made from renewable materials and so it is a true nature product. The leather straps on these Kuksas are reindeer leather. The simple design is functional as well as pleasing to the senses. The softness and warmth of the wood against your lips as you drink is a unique and pleasurable experience. A Kuksa is more than a drinking cup, it's a lifelong companion.
