A spectacular work of art. From our research, we believe this is a Handmade Omani Silver Khanjar.

The khanjar is the traditional dagger of Oman. The khanjar is curved and sharpened on both edges. It is carried in a sheath decorated in silver, on a woven silver belt. A khanjar appears on the flag of Oman, as part of the national emblem of Oman.

This one has a silver handle, silver sheath and an amazing finely woven silver belt. By tradition these daggers are worn by an Omani ruler or his family.

This was a luxury item of a ruler or pasha and not of an ordinary soldier. A very dramatic piece of beautiful workmanship.
