Rannanjarvi knife

Looks like this knife set has lived a very active life - as has Rannanjarvi. He was quite a rogue in his time but now is remembered as a hero - a strong willed free man. There are popular songs (Photo and video follow) written about him. He was stabbed with a knife to death in 1882. His decendants continued making this style of knife in Härmä. The blades are in quite good condition, they are probably carbon steel. The large knife has - Made in Finland - hand engraved on the blade. The red and black striped handle is Rannanjarvi's signature coloring. It represents the bars of a prison cell. The sheath has some fancy brass work embellishing it all over. We believe this knife is quite old, it can be 100 years or more.
